Happy Anniversary to Us!

Can you believe it has been one year since we opened our temporary library space at 21 Governor Street to the public?  The staff celebrated this week with coffee and cookies, then turned their attention back to the next pressing task: starting to plan our return to 472 Main Street in the spring of 2014!

Our temporary space has turned out to be more congenial than we could ever have hoped, and we thank all our patrons for their good cheer and patience during this interim period.

Tell us what you like about this space!

I love the new space! I know this sounds odd, but it is even easier to get to and so, so centrally located it makes using the library even easier for us.

I love the check out desk it is old wood and a beautiful work of art all its own.

I love the clock! Can we bring it with us ?

The small space forces the library to be super easy in & out. I can get in, get my items on hold and be out in no time at all. Would be nice if the new library is similar.

We are pleased that you like our temporary space. We feel much the same way - it has a wonderful ambiance. The new building has been designed to foster the same kind of feeling, with the addition of enough space to accommodate all the disparate activities people want in their library.

While the new space will be larger, we have worked to make it more logically arranged and easier to use. And we will still feel like an integral and centrally located part of downtown when we return to 472 Main Street!

Don't know about the clock, though...it has been in this building for decades, through many different uses!
