Twenty hardy readers completed
the Library’s first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) offering during
the 2013 Summer Reading Program for adults, finishing 10 major works of
literature in 10 weeks and attending weekly video lectures and in-person
discussions. Several dozen more participated as time allowed, and all
were at the cutting edge of library programming nationwide, as the
Ridgefield Library’s MOOC program was one of the first of its kind.
